the lady who helps me in the ansonia office of social security is so pleasant and gracious to me I think her name is irene and she really has helped me so much thank-you

I have been trying for two weeks to call the Ansonia, CT office. After going through the prompts and pressing 0 to speak to the next available person it waits and then says my call cannot be completed and disconnects. While everyone realizes COVID issues surely by now infrastructure is in place to speAk with someone or make an appointment on line. My issue is about appealing the surcharge being taken from my SS which needs to be revised as I retired in August 2019 and I am losing approx $140 let month of my bebefits

Nothing done in office. Phone call was frustrating. Need to do a name change and can't get into the portal. Will not accept copies of any documents. Only originals. They are making it impossible.

I arrive at 11:30 am to the social security building in Ansonia. My son who is disabled take a number sit down and wait to be called. We get called to the window, the representative is not friendly and very rude, she tells my to give her his ticket and photo ID, which he hands over, she says who needs service my answer is the one sitting in the chair in front of you, she tells him to sit in the left chair which was ridiculous, what difference does it make which chair to sit in. Then she tells us to go back to waiting area someone will call us. Around 12:30pm she closes her window and says someone else will open the next window to assist all the 20 people sitted in the waiting room, well that was 45 minutes ago. We are all her still waiting with no one assisting any one. The security guard is trying to keep cool by telling us someone will help us shortly. They may be short of staff and we the public will have to be adaptable. Seriously!!! This service is Horrible!!! There are no postings that this office will close from 12:30 - 1:30pm for lunch, please better inform the public. Please better serve the public.
